
85 years of legacy lends Azad Corporate House a new beginning.
Azad is not only an 85-year-old brand but also one of the oldest existing businesses from the capital of Kerala. Azad was started by M. P. Azad in 1940, and the brand name was adopted taking inspiration from the name of the legendary Indian freedom fighter Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad. The Azad business is poised to grow exponentially fast in 2025 with historic and landmark changes made in the business in 2024.
New Strategy
The year that rolled by, was a historic year for the Azad brand and the Azad business. In 2024, the Azad Group reorganised into a Corporate House with a new strategy formulated by &Matthai Strategy Consulting. The direction and destination for the corporate house was set through the new strategy and the new corporate house was incorporated as Azad Legacy Corporate House. The new Azad Corporate House will be led by Corporate Chairman Abdul Nazar Azad and Corporate Managing Director Nazeera Nazar along with Managing Directors of multiple verticals, Mahin Azad, Wazim Azad and Ozman Azad.
Celebrate the Beauty of Unity
On April 30, 2024, the new strategic corporate brand identity of the new Azad Legacy Corporate House was unveiled.
‘The Star Flower’ is the new corporate identity of the Azad Corporate House. The strategic thought ingrained in the uniquely designed and innovative brand identity is the clarion call to ‘Celebrate the Beauty of Unity’ all across the world to strengthen the bond of humanitarian values irrespective of caste, creed, colour and community differentiation. ‘The Star Flower’ espouses an in-depth meaning of connecting the joy-filled trio: beauty, unity and celebration.
Thus, the Azad businesses will roll out into the third and fourth generations after consolidating the value systems and specific direction to accelerate t exponential growth in the years to come.
Azad Corporate House Launch
The new Azad Corporate House with the unique corporate identity was launched on September 6, 2024 through a press coverage by all the leading Malayalam newspapers in India – Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi, Kerala Kaumudhi and Madyamam.
The new Azad Corporate House is positioned as a lifestyle corporate house with multiple businesses under the modern lifestyle vertical. The current seven verticals of the corporate house under 18 brands include a India Heritage Hotels chain, a Premium Restaurant chain, India’s First Slow Food Fast Service Ethnic Restaurant Chain, a Street Food chain, a Bakery & Confectionary chain, a Package Food Company, a Lifestyle Infrastructure company, a Celebration & Party company and the Travancore Traditional Cuisine Celebration Venture.
Culinary Tourism in Kerala
As a part of the strategy formulated by &Matthai Strategy Consulting, Azad Corporate Management is rebranding its 85-Year-old restaurants as ‘India Heritage Hotels’ and dedicating it to the domestic and international travellers to uphold the spirit of tourism circuits worldwide and more specially in the heritage tourism circuits of God’s Own Country, India’s most popular tourism destination.
As a gesture of gratitude to the land and the nation, the Azad Corporate Management dedicates the Azad Heritage Hotels chain to promote culinary tourism to Kerala. The two restaurants at East Fort and Chalai at Trivandrum are part of the Azad Heritage Hotels Chain and are rebranded as ‘Trivandrum Heritage Hotels’.
These two unique restaurants are probably the only two restaurants in south India standing in the same spot for over 8 decades now and serving the same base menu since its inception. Over 200-year-old Travancore Pakka Biriyani is the signature dish of these heritage hotels. Hyper-Local Travancore Cuisine will continue to be the highlight of the Azad Heritage Hotels.
